Hanged Man Emerald Tolemac

This young man has fallen from the pure light of day (clarity) and now hangs in the depths of the forest, a place of both light and shadow as represented by the shafts of light piercing the darkness of the woods. Symbolically, darkness holds secret thoughts and actions that can pave the way into a living hell, or a situation that feels like hell on earth. Even so, atonement is possible, as we shall see. The Wheel of Fortune Emerald Tolemac

This is a very complex card with many, many symbols on it. As such, it will require a very long explanation.

The Wheel of Fortune card is ruled by the four fixed signs of the zodiac: Taurus, Leo, Aquarius and Scorpio, as represented by the Bull, the Lion, the Angel, and the Eagle, which can be found at the four corners of the card. The fixed nature of these signs means that they are stable and dependable. This should reassure the questioner, for it can be alarming to get Wheel of Fortune in a reading; it seems that the entire smorgasbord of experience is at one’s fingertips. In Hebrew tradition there is a prayer that can be translated as, “The whole world is a very narrow bridge; the important thing is not to be afraid.” This lets us know that although there are a myriad of options, there is a path that resonates most with a particular soul and, never fear because this card can help you attune to that resonance. The Hermit shines his light to illuminate the path of the questioner. The star inside the lantern is a Solomon’s seal, which symbolises wisdom. Legend has it that this seal was engraved in a ring worn by King Solomon, and it gave him the power to command demons. The fact that the lantern contains this seal means two things. The Hermit can offer mastery over the darker forces of human nature. He can also offer us perception of the astral entities that exist in dimensions around us, which fight continuously to hinder, harm and create havoc around us. Continue Reading
